Excellent and now with a nice new place across the street that's more spacious. Very reasonable prices - typically get charged an arm and a leg for decent haircuts. Always been satisfied with the result here, and Jo is a pleasure. Highly recommend.

I live in the Bywater, and this is where I get my haircut all of the time. I love the stylists, and I love the fun local add-on services -- during Mardi Gras, they offer "glitter hair" where they'll apply different color glitter to your locks for a fun carnival time look. I brought my nieces and they loved it :) Highly recommend Savage Beauty.

If I could give Jo 1,000,000 stars, I would. Since 2009 she has been the sole designer of my hair. The years before were bleak in comparison, as was my hair. Any new color I want, she not only creates it, she does it AND still maintains the health of my long hair. She has taken me from blonde to brunette to red and back to blonde again, all the while keeping my head looking great, and healthy. There is no one better in New Orleans, perhaps anywhere. Oh, and she is an amazing pleasure to be around. A serene person who truly knows how to make one feel welcome to her and and her beautiful salon. Do yourself and your hair a favor and GO!

Ive been getting my hair done with Jo at savage beauty for over 6 years. Never have gone anywhere else since my first experience with Jo. I always go home happy and stay that way as my hair grows out. She is a professional, patient, and compassionate. I’m lucky she in part of my community!

I’ve been going to Savage beauty for years. I’ve gotten haircuts from both Jo and Michelle, and I love them both. Jo has walked me through various hair styles, from short to long, and always kept me looking good! I add some color now and then, they worked with me to add red to my hair that was the perfect balance of fun but not too out-there, and something that slowly fades with time, so no roots to deal with. The prices are very fair. Also, if you like sitting quietly while getting your hair cut, they make that very chill and comfortable. But, they are both the nicest people To talk to. I look forward to telling Jo all my latest life events and getting her feedback, and hearing her latest news. I feel like it’s not just my hair that gets cared for there!!

I am rare reviewer of anything, but peeps may want to know my experiences going to Jo and what that may be like. When you go to Jo - you get special treatment and feel like the only person that matters. She will listen, work with you and as always, makes you feel seen. Jo makes something out of not much I have to work with, something special. But honestly, why I am actually reviewing is for those that may have some social anxiety, or personal discomfort for whatever reason. When I leave Jo’s I am relaxed and feel safe and seen. I don’t dread going to get my haircut if I am going to Jo. The opposite.

I love getting my hair done by Jo!! It has always been a relaxing experience for me. I have a stressful job, and she has made getting my hair done therapeutic. The atmosphere is also fantastic and bright. I never have to worry about how my hair is going to turn out, and I walk out happy every single time! Another thing I love and appreciate about Jo is how patient she is with me when I'm not sure what I want. She takes the time to talk to me and gives me great advice. She is magic and will make all of your hair dreams come true!

Savage has been my family's stylists for many years. My teen son has explored his personal style with Michelle with great cuts - she is so good about talking through what he's thinking and they've always arrived at a cut that boosts his confidence and reflects his individuality. I've gone to Jo for everything from trims to big chops - she is attentive to my thoughts and collaborative with hers, and I always leave happy with my new 'do. The salon has a great neighborhood vibe - friendly and chill. It's small, so you get personalized attention without the sensory overload of larger, louder salons, which I really appreciate.

I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair as I have since Jo has been the one cutting it! I have waves, and she is great at bringing out my natural texture. She has shown me how to do some minimal styling before I let it dry on its own, which are the kind of tips I need as a wash-and-go girl. Jo listens to what I'm looking for and takes my (often vague) ideas and makes them into a cut I love!

I have been going to Jo for about 3 years and ever since the first appointment I was hooked. I let her do what she thinks needs to be done to my hair and I always love it when I leave and I always feel like a new person. She is very talented and very professional in her job. No matter if you’re looking for a new look or you are satisfied with your look now I can promise you you will not be dissatisfied with her. I would recommend her to anyone.
